Rochester Voter Alliance (RVA) is a non-partisan group of volunteers willing to work in low-registration areas of the county to get more people aware of their rights and registered. An additional role for RVA is to inform those who are not registered, those who may think that they are ineligible to vote and those who do not realize that they need to re-register.
The work of RVA begins in mid June and goes through early October at sites mostly in the city: the Public Market, neighborhood health centers, soup kitchens, city housing projects and other locations where voter registration and voter turnout are low. Volunteers work in teams of two for a 2-3 hour shift.
Please consider becoming an RVA volunteer. Registering someone to vote is an extremely rewarding experience. A training session for volunteers is May 19th, 7:00 p.m. on zoom. Call Judy Schwartz 585.442.5111 or email: schwartz179 (at) earthlink.net to sign up and/or for more information.
